Non-contact vibration measurement

Polytec manufactures a wide range of laser vibrometers that are the acknowledged gold standard for non-contact vibration measurement. Laser-Doppler vibrometers analyze samples of different sizes, from entire car bodies, large aerospace parts, engines, and actuators to micron-sized MEMS or biomedical specimens and components.

VibroScan QTec

VibroScan QTec measures vibrations in a new way – non-contact and with unprecedented precision. With its groundbreaking multi-path interferometry and diversity combining, QTec® sets new standards for optical sensitivity and interference immunity. It determines operating waveforms and eigenmodes for NVH, acoustics, structural dynamics, ultrasound, FEA validation, and non-destructive testing, and offers frequency ranges up to 32 MHz. The Xtra Laser’s SWIR wavelength delivers more power to the measurement, enabling larger measuring distances. The combination with QTec® makes the Xtra Laser insensitive to the angle of impact and surface.

The VibroScan QTec Scanning Vibrometer ensures maximum portability. The VibroLink Ethernet data interface reliably transmits vibration measurement data to your notebook and serves as an automation interface.

VibroScan QTec Xtra 3D

VibroScan QTec Xtra 3D measures three-dimensional vibrations in a new way – non-contact and with unprecedented precision. With its groundbreaking multi-path interferometry and diversity combining, QTec® sets new standards in terms of optical sensitivity and interference immunity.

With three synchronous measurements from three directions, all three dimensions of the vibration open up for analysis. The hub synchronizes the vibrometers with picosecond accuracy. MIMO-capable signal generators included. The PSV software takes over the guidance, detects the position of the individual VibroScans QTec in relation to the object, synchronizes the three laser beams, and guides them over the measurement object in a μm-sized measuring spot. The results are automatically transformed into the FEA coordinate system and animated according to vibration direction.

VibroScan QTec Xtra 3D determines operational vibration modes and eigenmodes for NVH, acoustics, structural dynamics, ultrasound, FEA validation, and non-destructive testing, and offers frequency ranges up to 32 MHz. With its SWIR wavelength, the Xtra Laser brings more power to the measurement. VibroScan QTec Neo

VibroScan QTec Neo

VibroScan QTec measures vibrations in a new way – non-contact and with unprecedented precision. With its groundbreaking multi-path interferometry and diversity combining, QTec® sets new standards in terms of optical sensitivity and interference immunity.

For the first time, QTec® technology has been successfully transferred from the infrared SWIR laser to the visible helium-neon laser. With its small laser measuring spot, the precise helium-neon laser is suitable for measurements on the finest structures and even measures in and through water. These properties are a decisive advantage when determining operating vibration modes and eigenmodes in microsystems, electronics, and medical devices, for example, when analyzing sensor systems, hydrophones, or ultrasonic components, over the entire frequency range up to 32 MHz.

The VibroScan QTec scanning vibrometer guarantees maximum portability. The VibroLink Ethernet data interface reliably transmits vibration measurement data to your notebook and serves as an automation interface.

Non-contact measurement of speed and length for production control

In the production of strip and sheet material, continuous material as well as piece goods, for example in steel or paper mills, knowing the exact strip length and current process speed is essential for keeping costs low and optimizing quality and yield. LSV (Laser Surface Velocimeters) from Polytec are optical sensors for the precise in-line monitoring of length and speed in production processes.
